Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Music Therapist to join our healthcare team at Mecwa. In this role, you will use music-based interventions to improve the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of our clients across various age groups and medical conditions. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to create and implement therapeutic programs that enhance our clients' quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess clients' needs and develop individualized music therapy treatment plans
• Conduct one-on-one and group music therapy sessions
• Design and implement music-based interventions to address specific therapeutic goals
• Document client progress and maintain detailed treatment records
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
• Select and maintain appropriate musical instruments and equipment
• Facilitate music-making activities that promote social interaction and emotional expression
• Provide education to families and caregivers about music therapy benefits
• Participate in team meetings and care planning sessions
• Stay current with latest music therapy techniques and research
  
  Required Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Music Therapy or related field
• Board Certification as a Music Therapist (MT-BC)
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in music therapy
• Proficiency in multiple musical instruments, particularly piano and guitar
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience working with diverse populations and age groups
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Physical ability to move equipment and instruments as needed
• Current CPR certification
